I am sure you know of people who made money by blogging, some of them even quit their regular jobs or leave school to focus on blogging, similarly, I know that a lot of people have heard of how blogging can make one wealthy. Thus, it is no wonder that many people have turned to blogging as a way of making money online, with blogging as the most popular way of making money online, what could be next in internet marketing? There are three things on my mind.
Selling on Networking Sites
Who has not heard of Facebook? At least for all the netizens out there, facebook is the IT of social networking sites, and this phenomenon has created a new internet marketing strategy. A simple one you might say, just post pictures of your product and tag your friends. Just get your products up running and online and then sort out shipping rates and contacts details, congratulations, you now are on business online. The good thing about this is that you do not have to maintain a website or hire a web designer to create a website for you. The challenge with these kind of sites is that they are not "stand alone" whcih means if for an examaple the twitter site in general goes down, so will your twitter site too. Your webpages will not be accessed by customers. Facebook and other social media sites are not indexed by the search engines so you may be limited with the exposure you get. But with Facebook's popularity, I expect that Facebook marketing will be improving in the near future. Of course, if you want to advertise your Facebook site, you can always opt to create your own fan page on Facebook and advertise it.
Niche market targeting
This is the current trend and will continue to be the trend, as the cliché goes, make a niche for you. With many online entrepreneurs targeting niche marketing, the competition may be rising, but fear not the future looks bright on niche marketing. Thats the exciting part about keyword research, just because there is no demand yesterday, does'nt meant there will not be tomorrow. Creating your own site with your niche keywords can be very profitable, just make sure the keywords have decent traffic and low competition. If you do this, you will need to start building your network of product manufacturer and suppliers.
Geo-marketing
We all know that the internet knows no geographical boundaries, but there is geographical boundary when it comes to internet marketing. Free shipping on phsyical products is a great way to get extra orders, but that may not be possible on the other side of the world, you will have a to charge for such a distance? With geo-marketing you are able to know the physical location of your website visitor and you can customize contents shown to them. Customers are more likely to buy your product if they do not have to pay for exorbitant shipping fees. Another benefit of geo-marketing is it enables you to target customers near you. This way it will be less costly on your part to offer free shipping. Also, you can give one-day delivery of bought merchandise. Its great that people can get shipping free and a very fast delivery? Nobody I know of. Thus, to increase your marketability target customers located within your geographical range. While trends may change in the future, one thing is clear internet marketing is here to stay and tools for it will continue to evolve. The key to success is your willingness to embrace change and your ability to know your target market and understand their needs.
